Q: How can you offer a “14-Day Money-Back Guarantee”?… won’t people take advantage of you?

A: While it’s true some could, I have the utmost faith and trust in my patients. They’ll tell me whether or not I’m doing a great job. So, no I am NOT crazy – I’m just very confident in the level of my care, and I have confidence in my patients, too.  See below for the details of our Money-Back Guarantee.

Q: How do chiropractic and other natural therapies work?

A: They work because your body has been designed to be a self-healing, self-regulating organism controlled by your nervous system. Millions of instructions flow from the brain down and up the spinal cord and through nerves to all your body parts. Imbalances and injuries of the muscular, skeletal, or nervous systems are fairly common, and can interfere with this vital exchange. Whole-body chiropractic adjustments, massage and other therapies are used to balance the body and improve mind/body communications. Health often returns when body balance is restored.

Q: Once I start, do I have to go forever?

A: The simple answer is no. After a thorough interview and exam, Dr. Ken and you will work together to come up with a treatment plan that will work for you.  You are always in charge of how much care you want and the frequency of your visits.  Like many other healthy habits, you may want to receive regular chiropractic checkups, massage therapy, and other natural therapies because they can help you maintain superior health.

Q: Do I have a slipped disc?

A: Located in between each pair of your spinal bones is a disc. Your discs has a fibrous outer ring that holds in a jelly-like material. This soft center serves as a pivot point for joint movement.  A disc can’t actually “slip” because it is firmly attached to the spinal bones above and below it.  However, a disc can become injured.  It can bulge, tear, or even herniate.  A disc can also slowly decay, become thin, dry out, and even collapse.

Q: Do I have a “pinched” nerve?

A: A “pinched” nerve is rare. It is more likely that “nerve interference” occurs at the level of a joint and muscle. These types of imbalances distort the nerve messages sent between the brain and the body. This can produce pain, dis-ease, and unhealthy alterations to the organs and tissues connected by the affected nerve areas.

Q: How did my body get so out of balance?

A: There are 3 basic causes… Physical causes could include slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions, and improper lifting. Emotional stress such as grief, anger, and fear can cause imbalances. Chemical causes could include alcohol, drugs, pollution, and poor diet.

Q: How do I know if my body is out of balance?

A: Your body could be out of balance and not even know it. Like the early stages of tooth decay or cancer, body imbalances can be present before warning signs appear. The results of a thorough exam can show the locations and severity of any bone, joint, muscle, or nerve imbalances you may have.

Q: What’s an adjustment?

A: Dr. Ken Goldman specializes in a whole-body adjusting technique. He uses a combination of his hands and an adjusting tool (the Impulse) to deliver a quick and precise thrust that helps add motion to joints that are “stuck” and not moving right.

Q: Won’t my body “re-balance”, correct, and get better on its own?

A: Sometimes. Today’s hectic lifestyles are a constant source of imbalances. Fortunately, our bodies have the ability to self-correct many of these problems as we bend and stretch or when we sleep at night. When imbalances or injuries don’t resolve, you need to see a chiropractic doctor.

Q: Are chiropractic and other natural therapies safe?

A: Yes… extremely safe. Many studies have shown this to be true. By avoiding drugs and risky surgery, natural therapies enjoy an excellent track record. A thorough case history and exam can identify the rare person for whom chiropractic care or massage therapy might be unsuitable.

Q: Will my body be exposed during the massage session?

A: You will have a few minutes in a private room to remove the items of clothing necessary for your massage. During the massage, you will be carefully covered with a sheet, and only the body area being worked on will be exposed. Please let us know if at any time you are uncomfortable, and we will do what we can to make your massage a comfortable and relaxing experience.

Q: Do I have to tip the massage therapist?

A: It’s not required to tip our massage therapists, but if you feel inclined to do so, it will be appreciated. Please understand that tipping will not change the kind of care you receive. Our therapists give their best to each client without exception.

Q: Is the natural care we offer beneficial for arthritis?

A: Yes. Chiropractic, massage, exercise and other natural therapies can help people suffering with arthritic joints by keeping “stuck” joints moving freely, reducing nervous system irritation, increasing blood flow, reducing swelling, and loosening the ligaments and muscles around the affected joints. The natural care we offer is a great choice because it provides relief, improved healing, and improved body function.

Q: Why should I drink plenty of water after a treatment?

A: Natural therapy can result in toxins being released from tight or over-worked muscles. Drinking plenty of water is a healthy habit for anyone, but after natural therapies, it helps to flush the toxins out of your system. This helps your body recover, re-balance and reduces your soreness.

Q: What if the natural therapy you offer doesn’t work?

A: That would be very unusual, but if we’re unable to find and correct the cause of your particular health problem, we will refer you to other specialists who may be able to help. Your health and wellness is our primary goal.
